Examining Power & Control: An Advanced Domestic Violence Training

An interactive training to build skills for domestic violence identification, screening, and support

AUDIENCE: Social workers, health care professionals, law enforcement, attorneys, mental health professionals, educators and any other helping professional working with survivors of domestic violence/sexual violence. Previous completion of an introduction to domestic violence training is recommended.

An interactive and intensive advanced training that builds on participant’s foundational knowledge of domestic violence for an in-depth exploration of the dynamics of power, control, dominance, and coercion present in battering relationships. Through group discussion, individual reflection, and participatory presentations, attendees will build skills in screening and assessing domestic violence, safety planning, and supporting victims through community connections and collaborations.
