Participants will gain a better understanding of the dynamics of sexual assault, how to provide trauma-informed healthcare services to patients who are victims, and will review the steps of evidence collection utilizing the sexual assault evidence collection kit provided by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. Best practices for policies, including mandated reporting, billing, confidentiality, and patient care, will also be provided.
