KCSDV POSITIONS
Position: Advocacy Coordinator
Responsible to: Immigration Project Attorney
Primary Responsibilities: Identify and address needs of survivors of sexual and domestic violence related to legal representation, housing, and other advocacy related concerns.
Specific Duties:
- Work with Kansas Legal Services, member programs, and private attorneys to identify and resolve problems or issues related to legal representation of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.
- Collaborate and coordinate legal service provision with Kansas Legal Services, including development of a network of pro bono attorneys proficient in representing survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
- Update and modify the KCSDV Civil Legal Advocacy Manual and other KCSDV publications as needed.
- Collaborate with the Office of Judicial Administration on various projects.
- Analyze housing issues and barriers to housing for survivors across Kansas.
- Work with member programs, specifically in rural communities, to build collaborative relationships with community housing resources to increase safe and affordable housing for survivors, as well as to increase the overall rural housing availability.
- Provide technical assistance to KCSDV member programs and community housing agencies on issues related to domestic and sexual violence and housing, on accessing affordable housing for survivors, and on building and maintaining collaborative relationships.
- Coordinate and develop other advocacy-related projects as needed.
- Serve as faculty on all relevant KCSDV trainings.
- Provide training and technical assistance to attorneys, advocates, survivors, and allied professionals on advocacy-related issues.
- Assist with other KCSDV duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Needed: Strong preference for prior experience working in a sexual assault and domestic violence services organization. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Proven writing and speaking ability. Ability to travel and have means of own transportation. Must be able to lift and carry 20-30 lbs.

Position: Accreditation & Technical Assistance Coordinator
Responsible to: Training Team Leader
Primary Responsibilities: Implement KCSDV Accreditation Program and coordinate the provision of KCSDV technical assistance.
Specific Duties:
- Implement KCSDV Accreditation Program with eligible programs across Kansas.
- Provide technical assistance and intensive support to programs applying for accreditation.
- Participate in Accreditation site visits with applicants.
- Work with other KCSDV staff and accredited programs to develop best practice model policies, protocols, and procedures that reflect core services standards.
- Coordinate KCSDV technical assistance provided by staff to program advocates and allied professionals.
- Work on other technical assistance and accreditation issues as needed.
- Maintain and manage KCSDV technical assistance database.
- Provide training and technical assistance to attorneys, advocates, and other allied professionals as needed.

Youth Prevention Specialist:

Administrative/Executive Assistant:

Experience working for a domestic violence/rape crisis center required. Responsibilities include pre and post monitoring procedures, adherence to federal regulations, preparation of monitoring reports, follow-up, statistical analysis, and technical assistance. Director of Special Projects:
Successful candidate will have knowledge, skills and a minimum of three years experience in domestic violence center or coalition management. Candidate must have a successful history of grant writing and must demonstrate successful management of grant deliverables and budgets. Must have expertise working with survivors of domestic violence and knowledge of empowerment-based advocacy. Statewide Domestic Violence Hotline Advocate:
Fulltime and part-time positions available. Provides crisis intervention, information and referral to survivors of domestic violence who call Florida’s toll-free statewide domestic violence (DV) hotline. Successful candidate will have knowledge of root causes of violence against women and oppressed groups, proven crisis intervention experience, ability to multi-task, and a consistent employment history. Candidate must have extensive knowledge of the dynamics of DV and a proven history of successful advocacy on behalf of survivors of DV. Position: Vice President of Public Policy
The National Network to End Domestic Violence

The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) is seeking a Vice President of Public Policy. This is a full-time exempt position that reports to the NNEDV President.
The Vice President of Public Policy is responsible for realizing NNEDV’s public policy goals and building the policy capacity of NNEDV’s member state domestic violence and dual domestic violence and sexual assault coalitions. The Vice President of Public Policy will strategize to advance NNEDV’s policy agenda by analyzing federal policy developments and determining how best to influence the policy process, mobilizing the state coalitions and their member organizations and collaborating with national violence against women partners. The Vice President of Public Policy will lobby on behalf of NNEDV’s policy agenda – determining strategy and targets, creating appropriate materials and messaging, and meeting with Congressional staff.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to): creating effective policy materials; drafting legislation and Congressional testimony; relationship-building with Congressional staff and Administrative officials; and organizing and implementing legislative events.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cultivating strong bipartisan relationships and elevating NNEDV’s agenda with the staff and Members of Congress, the Administration, and leading violence against women policy organizations and foundations
- Working with federal administering agencies on regulatory and policy issues
- Providing ongoing technical assistance and guidance on policy and advocacy issues to state coalitions
- Generating grassroots action, increasing grassroots base and enhancing participation by coordinating information gathering from the state coalitions and local organizations
- Managing relationships with national violence against women coalition partners and internal policy committees
- Contributing to fundraising efforts, including collaborating with development staff in funding appeals, grant writing, and communication with funders
- Providing regular policy briefings to the NNEDV President
- Mentoring and providing supportive management to members of the NNEDV Policy Department
Qualified candidates will have the following related skills and experience:
- At least 5 years of substantive policy work, with at least 2 years of experience at the federal level preferred;
- Understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking dynamics;
- Significant experience with lobbying, grassroots organizing, and coalition-building;
- Experience interacting with federal agencies and drafting or advocating for federal regulations;
- A thorough understanding of the appropriations and legislative authorization process;
- Demonstrated commitment to addressing the specific needs of Communities of Color, Native communities and immigrant communities;
- Supervisory and project management experience;
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and persuasive writing skills; and
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize when under deadline.
