The Outreach Advocate is responsible for providing culturally competent and trauma-informed outreach services, community engagement and activities to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) people, with special attention to underserved, micro or hidden communities within the LGBTQ community. This position’s primary focuses are to connect survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, bullying, harassment, and hate crimes to existing resources, and strengthen community response to LGBTQ violence. This position is also responsible to run the volunteer program and ensures proper operational coverage through recruitment, training and retention of quality volunteers. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is responsible to KCAVP’s entire service area, primarily Missouri and Kansas. This is full-time (40 hour/week), salaried, non-exempt position.
