All over the nation, people are coming together to recognize the compassion, commitment, and collaboration that have gone into helping victims of domestic violence and their children rebuild their lives. Governor Brownback joined the efforts this year by signing a declaration to recognize this month in Kansas.

KCSDV Observes October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV) welcomes October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. One in four women will be the victim of domestic violence at some point in her lifetime, and, on average, three women are killed every day at the hands of a current or former intimate partner.

Dodge City Domestic Violence Shelter Reopens

The Crisis Center of Dodge City (CCDC) has reopened its safe house effective Monday, October 1. During the height of this summer’s heat wave, the air conditioning unit at CCDC’s safe house began to malfunction, causing a temporary closing of the only safe house of its kind in the area.
