Position: Director of Outreach and Accessibility

Responsible To: Associate Director

Primary Responsibility: Oversight of staff and provide support to projects focused on increasing support to people who have been historically underserved and who have experienced sexual and/or domestic violence, provide best practice information, consultation and training to advocates and other professionals; participate in state and national committees related to stalking, sexual assault, and domestic violence.

Specific Duties:

  • Supervise and direct the Outreach and Accessibility Division, including but not limited to projects related to rural outreach, accessibility, sexual assault advocacy, serving people with disabilities, and bi-lingual language access and immigration projects.
  • Serve on the Division Directors management team.
  • Provide technical assistance on issues related to stalking, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
  • Provide training on stalking, sexual assault, and domestic violence advocacy and response, as needed.
  • Supervise and complete project-related grant reports and deliverables; ensure project related materials are submitted in a timely manner, as required; ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • In collaboration with other directors, develop and write grants related to project areas covered by this position.
  • Stay current on best practices, research and literature, and effective and appropriate responses to sexual and domestic violence.
  • Assist in writing, editing, and distributing materials related to outreach and accessibility specific to sexual assault and domestic violence.
  • Supervise the preparation and review of materials focused on accessibility to underserved and rural areas of Kansas
  • Participate in events and committee work statewide.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and representative to organizations and committees related to issues of stalking, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Employment Status: Full-time (36 hours/week), exempt.

Salary: $60,000. Additional compensation provided to bi-lingual/Spanish speaking candidates. We know the practice of salary negotiation can contribute to pay inequities; this starting salary is non-negotiable. Our compensation structure—as well as our approach to future compensation adjustments—is transparent to all employees.

Location: This position offers a collegial working environment in our offices in downtown Topeka, KS. with a hybrid in-person/remote work schedule. Remote work is set for most staff as Mondays and Fridays, with weekly office hours as 8:30am-5:00pm (Monday-Thursday) and 8:30am-12:30pm (Fridays).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed: Ability to assist direct service providers with best practices regarding stalking, sexual assault, and domestic violence response. Excellent oral and written communication, organization, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple staff and projects at one time, work independently and with a team, and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Demonstrated commitment to KCSDV’s mission and philosophy, including social justice values and anti-oppression work. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to travel in Kansas and out of-state and have own means of transportation.
